Your Legacy Needs More Than Vibes

In the age of reels, social media and online masterclasses, advice is everywhere. Particularly around money and business strategy.
How to grow it. How to manage your accounts. How to “up-level your financial energy.”
And while some of it may be well-intentioned and even motivating, I want to say something clearly…
Not all business financial and strategic guidance is created equal. And not everyone giving it is qualified to be giving it.
Just because someone is brilliant at what they do, whether they’re a creative, coach, speaker, or designer, it doesn’t mean they’re experienced in managing the business and financial capital, things like cashflow strategy, profitability, capital planning, tax structuring or long-term value creation.
There’s a big difference between:
Running a thriving solo or creative business vs.
Designing a financially sustainable, strategically structured enterprise with long-term goals
This distinction matters.
We need to stop treating visibility as credibility. Just because someone is charismatic, confident, or has a beautiful Instagram feed doesn’t mean they should be advising you on how to manage your business finances or build a wealth-generating enterprise. Some of the most dangerous guidance comes wrapped in the nicest packaging.
Many micro-business owners who are offering these services are operating as sole traders or consultants. That doesn’t diminish their expertise in their craft but it does mean their context, goals and financial frameworks may not align with yours. Or they may not have the experience to understand the complexities of different businesses, enterprises and families. If you wouldn’t take health advice from a lifestyle influencer, don’t take business direction from someone who hasn’t operated at your level of complexity.
Your accountant, your trusted advisor, your CFO or even another business owner with experience in your business model are the people to turn to for real-world, contextually relevant business advice. Because your enterprise deserves more than pretty quotes and vague talk about abundance. It deserves a solid foundation, smart decisions, and a plan built on numbers, research and experience not just narratives.
